Embracing KRAMA: The Power of Small Steps in Achieving Big Goals
In the words of Lao Tzu, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Recently, delving into yogic philosophy, I stumbled upon a fascinating concept known as KRAMA. According to Iyengar B.K.S. in “Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali,” KRAMA refers to successive, consecutive changes that bring about different transformations, particularly in consciousness. Simply put, it highlights the significance of small daily actions and practice in attaining significant life goals.
The Pottery of Life
Drawing an analogy, consider the process of creating a ceramic pot. It commences with clay dust, progresses to a clay lump, and culminates in the formation of the pot. This parallels our life journey, where each of us starts at the same point—essentially, from nothing. KRAMA encourages us to acknowledge the potency of consistent, incremental efforts in realising our aspirations
Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
Frequently, individuals harbor self-limiting beliefs such as “I’m too old,” “I don’t have time,” or “I don’t have money.” These beliefs act as stumbling blocks, hindering personal and professional growth. However, coaching can be a powerful tool to dismantle such barriers. By working on these beliefs, individuals can unlock their true potential and pave the way for transformative changes
Agile and Scrum Methodology in Leadership
As a leader, adopting methodologies like Agile and Scrum has proven beneficial in my journey. Implementing a few key practices has yielded noteworthy results:
1. Start the Day with Purpose
Initiate your day with short “Stand-Up Meeting” style gatherings, addressing questions about your tasks, goals, and areas where you need assistance. This sets a positive tone for the day and ensures everyone is aligned.
2. Effective Communication Across Teams
Conduct regular cross-team meetings every two weeks to facilitate knowledge-sharing among specialists from different domains. This collaborative approach minimizes task duplication and enhances overall team efficiency.
3. Team Retrospective
Periodically hold team retrospectives, employing techniques like “Sad, Mad, Glad” or “Start, Stop, Continue.” This fosters an open environment for reflecting on challenges, achievements, and areas of improvement.
4. Individual Connection
Schedule regular individual meetings with team members to listen to their thoughts and concerns. Acknowledging personal aspects in a professional setting strengthens team bonds and fosters a supportive work culture.
Incorporating KRAMA into our daily lives, along with embracing agile methodologies, serves as a testament to the power of small, consistent actions in achieving significant goals. As you embark on your journey, remember that every small step contributes to the transformative evolution of your life. Inner strength: a journey without regard to your business, through the power of mind and body
Just watched the newest movie about Bob Marley and his powerful words struck a chord: "You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice." It got me reflecting on my own definition of strength.
